Fashion is a capricious girl. It is constantly changing and forces us to live in accordance with its trends. And today she has brought back into our lives the marine motifs that were in favor a century ago, and she has returned them not only to clothing, but also to the design of premises. Undoubtedly, a marine-style interior is very romantic, but at the same time, this decor is very demanding on details. But, having made a room in such an original interpretation, you will have a unique chance to decorate it with exclusive elements that are guaranteed not to be found in any other interior, which means that your home will turn out to be simply unique in beauty and comfort.
Marine style sofa interior
The basis of the marine interior is blue and white stripes, light wood and various things that are directly related to the oceans and seas: pebbles and shells, starfish and crabs, steering wheels and ancient chests. The maritime traditions of Provence and country, Italian and Mediterranean styles are not alien, but it will be very difficult to reproduce such an interior with your own hands, therefore, if you decide to follow fashion trends, you should listen to the advice of professionals.

Where is nautical style acceptable?
The arrangement of housing is started with the sole purpose of making it truly comfortable and cozy, and, therefore, it is worth approaching this issue rationally. But will a house, the interior of which will be completely recreated in a marine style, where each room will greet you with a blue and white stripe, meet this requirement? It’s difficult to answer unequivocally, but most designers do not recommend getting so carried away and believe that it is quite enough to decorate only one room in these colors. They are echoed by psychologists who insist that if only one color dominates the entire house, and it is so saturated, then even people with a strong psyche will be able to find out what a depressive mood is.
The style is as original as it is destructive, and if one room, decorated in a maritime context, becomes the true decoration of the apartment, then the entire area, made in this direction, will deprive the house of originality and turn it into a kind of hotel, forever expelling comfort and warmth from it. The marine-style interior itself is “cold”, so sunny rooms with windows “looking” to the east or south will be optimal for it. In addition to beauty, style will bring coolness to the atmosphere of such a room and allow you to get a wonderful place to relax. Of course, you won’t get the effect of being on the coast, but staying in an extraordinary room is guaranteed to improve your mood.
Deck style in the living room interior
The nautical style is truly individual and has characteristic features by which it is instantly identified. This is, first of all:
- materials;
- color improvisation;
- lighting;
- furnishing;
- motivation;
- availability of open space.
Decorate your living room in this style - and you will emphasize the wealth of the owners, because creating a marine design is, to put it mildly, not cheap. A children's room resembling a ship will also be beautiful. In such a room, children will enjoy spending time and will certainly be able to feel like great travelers or famous pirates. Of course, an interior in a fashionable marine style is simply created for bathrooms and, oddly enough, is not alien to bedrooms either. The main thing is to decide on the composition, and having decided whether you will imitate the captain's cabin or emphasize the beauty of the seas, you can safely begin to implement the idea.

Expressive details: DIY decor items
Pleasant little things create a comfortable atmosphere in the rooms. To decorate an apartment in a marine style, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on purchased decor; many details can easily be created with your own hands. For example, ordinary mollusk shells collected from the coast can be spray painted with pearlescent paint. A photo frame decorated in a marine style with shells of various shapes, ocean stars and large pieces of salt will look beautiful and unusual. To make the frame even more unusual, you can cover it with voluminous jute thread, and attach shells and multi-colored stones on top. Similar to a frame, you can decorate a frame for a mirror.
To decorate the interior, you can use anything that evokes associations with the sea.
You can make an antique display cabinet and place sea trophies brought from trips in it
Candlesticks in a marine style, where paraffin will be poured into an empty flat shell, will also look original. To make the atmosphere as cozy as possible, you can make a wooden house with shelves on which cute trinkets will be placed. You can even create marine-style furniture with your own hands, for example, a coffee table. Only for this purpose will a table with a glass top be suitable, under which you can lay out sailor’s attributes.

Which rooms have a nautical theme?
No one will be surprised by the fact that a marine interior can be successfully created in any room - from the kitchen to the bedroom. Even a balcony or loggia is transformed into a small corner of paradise, reminiscent of a vacation on the sunny coast. Such a solution is not suitable only for a corridor or hallway that has a small area.
For a hallway without windows, white walls are suitable as the main color and a slightly blue accent on individual surfaces

The nuances of creating the interior of the living room and bedroom
Everyone understands that when remodeling a living room or bedroom in a marine style, you definitely need to find a place for white, azure and ultramarine details, but many people need to learn how to harmoniously decorate a room. The main thing is not to overdo it with color, choosing lighter shades.
Preference is given to calm tones, natural fabrics and wooden furniture
When decorating a living room in a marine style, it is enough to apply the following solutions:
- Place pillows in the shape of ocean stars, preferably brick color, on the sofa or armchairs.
- Set up an aquarium with colorful fish and lush algae.
- Original vintage decor always finds its place in a marine style: antique chests and wicker baskets. They can serve as decoration or a place to store useful little things.
Sea print pillows are ideal for decorating your living room interior
Nautical bedroom design with striped curtains and bed linens
When decorating a living room in a marine style, simple little things brought from vacation are extremely useful: shellfish shells, stones of unusual colors and shapes. They can decorate wood shelves on the walls. When creating a bedroom in a marine style, techniques are used that are relevant for the living room. The only caveat is that in the bedroom you should not clutter the bed with many pillows; just choose bed linen in a white, cornflower blue or blue color palette.

Nautical theme in the kitchen
A marine-style kitchen is suitable for those who cannot live without the sound of the surf, a sandy beach and heavenly peace among palm trees. To create an unsurpassed environment, you should use the following recommendations:
- It is better to finish the walls with wooden clapboard, like the lining of a ship. It's beautiful and practical.
- The floor should be covered with wooden boards, parquet or light laminate.
- You can add a splash of color to a nautical-style kitchen backsplash by choosing bright blue mosaic tiles to finish it.
- It is better to hide all household appliances.
Original ceiling lamp made of nautical rope
The nautical idea of your interior will be emphasized by the table setting. The choice of service depends on what kind of image you need - a solemn one for a festive feast or a soulful one for an evening tea party
A lot of light is also important for a marine-style kitchen. Good daylight can be achieved through well-chosen textiles: it is best to cover the windows with translucent tulle or a curtain made of unbleached linen. Also, a kitchen in a marine style must be decorated with shells and stones; you can place a pot of living stones – lithops – on the windowsill.

A piece of the sea in the nursery
Children associate the sea with fabulousness, adventure and carefreeness, so creating a nursery in a marine style is a fairly common occurrence. The most interesting room will look like a cabin, in which there is a bunk bed, a hammock (if the area allows), ropes and many thematic attributes.
For a boy's room, a combination of white and dark blue is suitable.
For a girl, it is better to decorate the room in softer shades
To make the atmosphere more realistic, it is worth sticking photo wallpaper with images of the sunny coast on the walls. A blue or ultramarine carpet on the floor will look stylish and relevant for this style. But if the child is under 3 years old, then it is likely that the coating will have to be cleaned every week. In this case, a high-pile rug would be better.
This homemade mirror in the shape of a fish will fit perfectly into the interior of a child’s room or bedroom.

Tone weaves
The marine style is very diverse in its color scheme. Here, there are not only blue tones, but also sand and emerald, as well as beige and turquoise. The combination of blue and white is considered classic because it is associated with the depths of the sea. Using tones of green combined with beige and brown will remind you of a ship's deck. Sand, combined with blue and yellow, will bring back beach memories. Turquoise and azure in harmonious combination with beige, white or sand will tell about the measured splash of waves. Calm tones characteristic of a fashionable style can be diluted with silver, gold, coral, citrus or wine shades, but using flashy neon colors in such an interior would be bad manners.
Marine style in combination of wood and blue
Distinctive features
The marine style is easily recognizable; it has a number of features directly associated with the surface of the water and marine fauna.
- Basic colors of marine style: white and shades of blue;
- Use of textiles made from natural materials;
- An abundance of thematic decorative elements;
- Furniture in the interior of simple shapes with straight lines made of natural materials: wood, rattan.
Consumables
To give the interior in a marine style maximum credibility, only natural materials should be used in the design of the premises. For example, the floor must be covered with bleached boards, laminate, painted planks imitating light wood, such as ash, or bamboo, and in no case should it be hidden under carpet. The walls can be lined with clapboard or covered with decorative plaster interspersed with shells. The ceiling can be made in any way, but a multi-level option would be ideal, since the height differences will help to present the ship's cabin in all its originality. Interior doors should also be designed to resemble natural wood and may have rounded inserts glazed with opaque glass.
Cabin style living room
Adding flowers
If space allows, you can arrange a green corner on the terrace. Palm trees, monsteras and large ficuses are picturesque in tubs right on the floor. Lemon trees and blooming orchids are in pots on the shelves.
A variety of climbing vines such as cissus, passionflower and ivy will look interesting when allowed to climb along supports or small nails in the wall.
You can complement the picture with hanging plants: chlorophytum, tradescantia and ampelous petunias, which are organic in hanging flower pots.
Such a composition of your favorite and unpretentious indoor plants will create a tropical paradise on the veranda.
Lighting Features
An abundance of light is the main element of a marine-style interior. A space filled with sun will give you the feeling of being on the ocean. For this reason, designers strongly recommend using snow-white objects in room decor, installing full-wall windows, using glass doors and making mirrored ceilings.
You should experiment with artificial lighting. For a cabin-inspired room, sconces in the shape of anchors or a chandelier in the shape of a steering wheel are ideal. In a room that imitates the depths of the sea, lamps with lampshades in the shape of fish, corals, shells, and starfish are appropriate. A floor lamp decorated with pearls, which will fill the room with a gentle glow, will be a wonderful decoration. Retro-style lamps reminiscent of ancient lanterns are good for a marine theme. You can try to fit more patterned lamps into the environment, the main thing is not to disturb the overall harmony.
Ship style interior
Set the mood with lighting
On the one hand, the lighting scheme in a nautical-style house does not differ from the standard one, on the other hand, you have great opportunities when choosing fixtures, lamps and floor lamps. Pay attention to the retro models that look like old ship lanterns and kerosene lamps. Lamps with a built-in fan and wooden blades look interesting.
Use garlands and candle compositions as additional lighting elements. Now in stores there is a large selection of candlesticks in a marine style: in the shape of lighthouses, shells, lamp posts.
Style motivation
The easiest way to motivate nautical style is with stripes. In marine-style interiors, they can be of different widths and are often used in various combinations. Depending on the location of the stripes, you can visually expand the space (in this case, the stripes should lie horizontally) and extend it in height (here the stripes should be placed vertically). Such stripes can be located on curtains and bedspreads, sofa cushions and furniture upholstery. Zigzag and wavy patterns have become a good alternative to them. The final touch of the decor will be a wind rose, made in the form of a drawing or appliqué.
The side of the ship in the form of a bar counter
FIRST FLOOR
The marine theme is used in the interior only fragmentarily - in the living room area it is reminded of by prints, a ceiling lamp and a ship's locker, which is used as a coffee table
Correlating the available volume with the number of rooms required, the designer proposed abandoning the blank partition between the representative rooms - the living room and the kitchen-dining room. The division between zones of different functional purposes is quite arbitrary - the boundary is a false column with a bar counter “resting” on it, as well as different types of floor coverings. There are parquet boards in the living room area, ceramic tiles in the kitchen-dining room. To make the ceiling look more proportional, it was divided into square sections using polyurethane foam moldings. The same technique was implemented, but on a smaller scale and when laying ceramic tiles in the kitchen-dining area.
Marine style furnishings
A room whose interior is designed in a marine style requires appropriate furnishings. Bearing in mind that this style does not accept artificial materials, we turn our attention to products woven from wicker, bamboo, straw or aged wooden furniture. Instead of a chest of drawers, it is better to place a real ship's chest in such a room. Tables made of durable thick glass and forged objects will not interfere with the interior. In terms of its dimensions, furniture should be solid, stable and evoke a feeling of reliability. It is impossible to create a complete atmosphere without the use of ropes. Tied with nautical knots, they can be present on a wall panel. Furniture handles can be made from them. As for textiles, the fabrics used can be either striped or plain. Rough materials such as linen, cotton and natural matting are ideal here. Although the windows of a marine-style interior require minimal decoration, nevertheless, if you want to hide from prying eyes, they can be decorated with light, light curtains made of organza and corduroy. They will resemble fluttering sails and will not block the path of light. A sign of excellent taste can be snow-white blinds, which will ideally match the paneling of the walls and give the room an atmosphere of intimacy and privacy.

Accessories for marine interiors
Probably, filling a room with cute trinkets becomes a really exciting process for many. It’s so wonderful to see how, with the placement of another figurine or painting, a room takes on a soul. You cannot do without this process when reproducing an interior in a marine style, but try not to overdo it in the transformation. Don’t forget that open space reigns in this style, so don’t create a clutter of furniture and don’t squeeze everything you find from marine paraphernalia into it. For decoration can be used:
- Model of the boat. It can be of any size: from a miniature tabletop sailboat to a large yacht that occupies the corner of the room.
- Starfish and fish. In such an exterior, sofa cushions are often made, but you can install an aquarium in the room or create a luxurious panel with representatives of the underwater world.
- The steering wheel, in which the clock is mounted, can be placed on the bedside table or hung on the wall.
- Any map and globe. These attributes are also appropriate in a marine-style interior.
- Hammock. The hanging bed will remind you of ancient ships.
- French wine jugs.
- Vases with sand patterns.
- Pebbles and decorative stone. These irreplaceable materials can be used instead of baseboards or used as a stand for an aquarium and TV. Particularly gifted people manage to make coffee tables and partition shelves out of them.
- Topiary, box, photo frame made of shells.
- Fishnet.
- Lifebuoy.
- Oars. They can be placed at the head of the bed.
- Retro swimsuit and flip-flops. These elements will also fit perfectly into the interior.
There is always a place for fresh flowers in a marine interior, but they must have large leaves. Palm trees and other exotic plants placed in specific flowerpots will feel great here.
How to decorate an interior in a marine style without mistakes
If you are going to decorate a room in a marine style with your own hands, try not to overdo it with colors and avoid irreparable mistakes, the correction of which will require a complete remodel of the room. First of all, do not use too rich a blue color, as in certain tonal combinations and in the wrong lighting it will simply turn into black. If you don’t think of this color as a base for your room, then generously dilute it with bright shades of the marine palette. Under no circumstances should you paint the walls with this color.
Dining table in the form of a cabin
The room will certainly become dark and even a light floor and white furniture will not be able to correct this feeling. This color is good only in the ornaments of floor carpets or sofa cushions. You need to be just as careful when introducing blue and white stripes, even though they are considered the basis of a marine interior. An excess of them will make the room motley and deprive it of originality. It is unacceptable to furnish a room with poor quality furniture and leave it without additional accessories, so if you are on a budget, it is better to look for an alternative to this design.

Materials:
Tools: Glue gun, drill, hammer |
1. Determine the width of the curtain by measuring the wall-to-wall distance along the outer curve of the sink. Cut out a yoke - a strip 30 cm wide and a length equal to the width of the curtain (in our case 140 cm), placing the strips horizontally. Cut out a straight line 0.67 x 2 m, placing the stripes along the short side (vertically). Loosen the tension on the upper thread of the sewing machine and sew a thin stitch (with a maximum length of 5 mm) along the long side at a distance of 2 cm from the edge. Lightly gather the fabric by pulling the edges from the wrong side, and baste the “frill” (flange facing) to the edge of the yoke, evenly placing the gathers across the entire width and aligning the edges. Sew the parts together by sewing them using a rare stitch (along the gathers).
2. Press the seam inside the yoke. Fold the side edges in twice, press and topstitch. Fold the yoke piece horizontally in half and mark the fold line. Sew 3-5 pieces of Velcro along it (on the back side) so that the curtain can be attached to the sink. Apply matching pieces of masking tape under the sink border. 3. Make a drawstring for the elastic by stitching along the top fold of the yoke at a distance of 1 cm from the edge. Fold its bottom seam allowance inward (on the back of the yoke) and baste the edge to the stitched seam (with the bottom part of the curtain). 4. Sew along the front side exactly along the line of stitching of the parts.
5. Cut the decorative cord in half and sew its ends with a few stitches to prevent the strands from unraveling. Sew the ends of both pieces to the edges of the yoke, bring them to the middle so that the cords slack, and sew them at equal intervals. Tie them in the middle with any original knot. 6. Make tassels at the ends of the cord: wrap the ends with fringe several times and secure it with stitches all the way through (through the cord). Gather the fringe threads into one knot by wrapping the thread tightly around them. Hem the bottom, accurately determining the length of the curtain, taking into account the height of the yoke (13 cm) and the side of the sink (in our case, the length of the curtain is 74.5 cm). Insert the elastic into the drawstring and tie the ends together. Make fasteners for the curtain: drill holes in the wall on both sides of the sink, drive dowels into them and screw in self-tapping screws with rings. Tie the ends of the resin to the rings, pulling the curtain over the sink. Use additional fasteners (“Velcro”).
By the way > If you couldn't find striped fabric, buy 10 m of satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide and sew it onto the yoke and bottom of the curtain. Lightweight water-repellent fabric for awnings is suitable as a base - it is sold in tourism and recreation stores. Make two horizontal stripes on the yoke by stitching the braid along the edge. The bottom of the curtain should be the same width as the yoke. Make it with wavy stripes. First, sew three strips of braid (at equal intervals - in our case 4 cm), after marking the fabric with a dry piece of soap. Sew the braid along one bottom side only. Then make marks along the stripes, marking every 25 cm. Bend the braid down at the first mark from the edge and baste (or pin with needles). At the next mark, leave the ribbons in their original position (baste them), and then (at the next mark) bend them down again. Sew the ribbons along the bastings using short securing stitches (twice back and forth) and iron the “waves” through the cotton fabric. Sew a curtain from the prepared parts, using the recommendations given in this master class, sewing loops for threading the cord into the stitched seam of the yoke with the lower part. |
Tip > If there is a small gap between the sink and the wall, you don't have to use screws - just tie both ends of the elastic and put the curtain on, tucking the knot into the gap between the wall and the sink.
Marine style bathroom
The simplest and most popular way to decorate a bathtub in a marine style is to use the creations of marine painters. The images on canvas can be completely different: sailing ships, dolphins, seagulls over the waves, in general, everything that gives rise to an association with the sea. Such a picture could be a panel spread out on one of the walls, framed by natural stone and surrounded by turquoise, white or blue finishing tiles. You can imagine a nautical theme on the border edging the perimeter of the room. You can create a marine mood using mosaics. The play of shades will accurately reproduce the beauty of sea waves.
Kitchen and living room
In the kitchen and living room, the main thing is to follow the basic principles of nautical design; it is equally important to integrate household appliances organically. You can competently and elegantly think through the design for housing in this style with the help of the services of a professional designer. However, if you wish, someone who has a well-developed taste and sense of style can try to do such work, and for this it is not necessary to have artistic skills.
When decorating a kitchen, it is not necessary to use decorative items related to water or imitating aquatic inhabitants. It is quite possible to choose such narrow directions as:
- beach theme (any beach accessories are used);
- bungalow (like a kitchen in a house on the water);
- purely fishing orientation (kitchen for a fisherman);
- interior design of ship stylization.
The kitchen floor can be finished in wood and resemble a deck or cabin. A parquet board or an economical option such as laminate is ideal for this. Wallpaper is often selected for walls - it can be with a three-dimensional image of sea waves or other marine-themed textures.
Particular attention should be paid to the kitchen apron - it can be made of ordinary tiles (usually mosaic tiles) or glass with photo printing. In the latter case, an image of the water element is selected.
In the living room, it is best to use furniture upholstered in blue and white striped fabric. It is allowed to use a variety of decorative pillows with appliqués of fish, bubbles, waves, and shells. It is desirable that interior items be made exclusively from natural wood, and the products are often specially aged. By the way, the living room is the best place for a large illuminated aquarium.

In addition to the correct finishing of walls, floors and ceilings, sofa cushions with prints of shells, corals or in the shape of fish, crabs, seahorses will fit very harmoniously into a seaside living room. Moreover, all this can be done with your own hands. An excellent addition would be any little things brought from vacation, such as brine or unusually shaped pebbles. A wonderful dose of relaxation will be brought into the interior in a marine style by colorful fish, briskly darting about in a luxurious aquarium. An anchor attached to the wall behind the sofa or a bell hanging near the door will look original.

Bathhouse interior: ideas for decor and comfort
“To wash yourself in a bathhouse is to be born again,” they said in the old days. However, a good stove, shelves made of fragrant wood and the opportunity to take a dip in cold water are not everything. The interior design of the steam room is of no small importance for comfort. With a little effort and giving free rein to your imagination, you will create a bright and cozy bathhouse interior!
How to decorate a steam room with wood and pebbles
Linden lining is perhaps the most popular material for interior decoration of rooms with high temperatures. Pleasant to the body, aromatic, with a healing effect - perhaps the best thing is lining with embossing, which imitates various types of decorative coverings: snakeskin pattern, bamboo, etc.
The design of the steam room is in eco-style - the walls and ceiling are lined with boards, and benches are included in the “set” for them. An interesting idea for this style of bathhouse is a wall-mounted firewood rack indoors. Firewood for the stove is laid out in the form of panels.
A wall lined with pebbles will also decorate the room. It can also be used to finish the floor in a washing room. And if you don’t skimp, you can decorate the design for a bathhouse or hamam with a floor made of coins.
If you want to save space, a raised decorated floor will help: if you wanted to take a shower, you lowered it, you decided to swim, you raised it.
Bath design
The feeling of freshness will be created by the design of the sink in a beautiful natural style. Wildlife has a powerful calming effect. Therefore, in one case, the designers used large logs with untreated granite, in the other, they lined the inside of the wall with stone and tiles.
Design elements such as waterfalls from the walls would be appropriate in the bathhouse premises. You can decorate them with large shells instead of traditional faucets.
Fans of minimalism and new life for old things in bathhouse design will love a shower made from a large garden watering can.
If there is no room for a pool, then you can cool down after the steam room in the plunge pool. Fortunately, it’s easy to make it with your own hands – from an ordinary barrel.
A washbasin made from a simple barrel will help you “maintain style”
... and comfortable furniture from them - in the dressing room.
Decorative stucco elements will add charm to the wooden walls inside the dressing room or rest room. You can make a high-quality imitation of brickwork, three-dimensional figurines of animals and plants with your own hands, using a special mixture consisting of plasticizers and fiberglass. On FORUMHOUSE you can read in detail about graphite technology.
The floor may also be original. A cork covering with a “straw” pattern is more suitable for a country-style bathhouse interior. In addition to this flooring, you should take a bale of straw as a coffee table (an idea from the Hacienda show). Another interesting solution for the floor is a pattern made of boards and refractory bricks.
For an unusual bathhouse - the same doors made of natural materials - wooden, in the style of a country house. But these porthole windows will tell you how to use spare parts from an old washing machine.
Lighting and accessories
The best lamp for the interior of a bathhouse is one made by yourself. A chandelier in the shape of a stork's nest, redundant in the house, looks unusual and original. Materials: frame for a bouquet, braided with decorative raffia straw using wire. Natural antlers decorated with a lamp are also a suitable option for a natural style.
If you prefer something more modern, you need to choose lamps like these, hidden under the “torn off” planks of the interior decoration. An old basin used as a chandelier in the shower is another innovative solution.
We create a romantic mood by using candles. But bathhouses require special design. A basin or trough and ladles will do again.
In general, a basin in a bathhouse is a universal item. It is worth making such “shelves” for storing bath brooms, towels and other bath accessories. Wooden pallets can also be used in a steam room - this is a good solution for the main house.
Wicker baskets are also great for decorating a bath: large ones usually go on the floor as tables, small ones - on the wall.
From “warm” natural materials you can make a wide variety of decor that would be appropriate in a bathhouse and sauna: boxes woven from grass, reed, rattan, fern, corn, bast shoes and other items that are hung on the walls and placed on benches.
The best hangers for bathrobes would be items made from branches or small stones as hooks.
Bathhouse: interior in Russian style
The interior of a steam room in the Russian style will look complete if you complement it with decorative accessories. The room can be decorated with bath brooms, embroidered curtains, wood products - figurines, spoons, mirrors, clocks made from wood cuts, which are not afraid of humidity and will help to allocate enough time for important procedures.
Tapestries made from medicinal herbs, moss and roots will quickly decorate the walls, look great and fill the room with aromas. They can be woven using a hand weaving device called a reed.
In addition to aesthetic value, herbal rugs and tapestries also perform an important healing function. A bath mat made of willow bark not only decorates, but also helps against skin diseases and sweating of the feet, and relieves inflammation. A tansy towel used as a compress in a bath is the main folk remedy for joint pain. Applied to the head, it relieves pain and helps get rid of dandruff. Nettle cloths increase vitality. Tapestries made from several types of herbs (wormwood, peppermint, yarrow, St. John's wort, sweet clover, etc.) are not only excellent elements of bathhouse design, but also cleanse the human body of harmful microbes and have a tonic or calming effect.
How to design a bathhouse
Herbal products woven on a reed are strong and durable. The only condition is that direct sunlight should not fall on them. The natural aroma of tapestries can be enhanced by sprinkling them with water. For the same purpose, they are hung in the steam room.
Useful decoration for baths and saunas - decorative designer jars with sea salt and colored sand. If you look closely, you can see a pattern of mountains, sky and deserted beaches. And when you have enough of this decor, you can use it as a scrub.
The more shades of salt and sand you have, the more interesting the “landscapes” will look. Coarse salt and sand make paintings in jars worse.
Ideas for a bath
The interior of a bathhouse or sauna will be made more soulful by items made of wool: a portrait doll on a wire frame, brownies that protect the owners, humorous hats that are so pleasant to take a steam bath in.
Toys made of bast or straw are suitable for bathhouse decor. We suggest making a symbol of the coming year - a goat. And let it give you a new portion of good luck, health and a lot of happiness with each visit to the steam room! Have fun!

Sailor's bedroom
The bedroom is a room that should evoke complete peace. Therefore, to create a sea atmosphere here, it is enough to create an accent wall at the head of the bed, using themed wallpaper. However, do not rush to purchase consumables with obvious associations. A more subtle approach is needed here. Instead of colorful photographs, prefer “hints” of the sea in the form of small patterns on an azure background or thin alternating stripes. Bed linen in matching colors and an abundance of pillows with original prints will help complement the interior of a relaxation room in a marine style.

For little pirates
One of the best options for decorating a room for a little prankster would be to turn it into a real cabin, where a hammock, a rope will be placed under a bunk bed, and a small but real sail will serve as a canopy. Using photo wallpaper, a room can be turned into a yacht cabin, a seashore, a ship’s deck, and even an underwater kingdom. An imitation of the seabed can be done in a nursery using carpet.

Home galley
This may seem strange, but a tiny “Khrushchev” kitchen will be just the perfect place for improvisation on a marine theme. After all, it is as cramped as a ship's galley. Wood, combined with blue and white tones, will create a fairly fresh and incredibly stylish interior. Order the doors of the facades from bleached pine, hang curtains in a large checkered cell or blinds on the window and you will not recognize your favorite kitchen, it will become so spacious and cozy to be in it.

To be or not to be a marine interior
If we talk about marine interiors, today they have become extremely widespread in city apartments and there is an explanation for this. This style can give a feeling of balance and tranquility; it brings back pleasant memories of a seaside holiday. If you still doubt whether a marine-style interior will be exactly what you dreamed of, then look at how many advantages it has. Let's start with the fact that it is impossible not to pay tribute to style in terms of environmental friendliness. After all, when reproducing it, only natural materials are used. Accordingly, this room design is completely safe for kids. Further. For such an interior, a minimum set of furniture is provided, which means you will get free space in which it will not only be pleasant to relax and breathe deeply. Getting rid of a lot of unnecessary details and concentrating on individual furniture accessories significantly reduces the chances of creating a mess in the room. The presence of stripes in the design makes it possible to make even the most modest room taller and wider, at least visually. The walls will stop “pressuring” you and you will be happy to spend more time at home.

Perhaps the only “stone” that can be thrown into a marine-style interior is its high cost, but our craftsmen can easily argue with this, creating its main elements with their own hands. So do not deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying the sunny warmth of the sea coast in inclement weather.
ATTIC
By the time the designer began work, the clients’ youngest daughter was barely two years old. Her room was decorated “for growth.” At the same time, in a small room it was possible to organize all the areas that the child will need in the future - for relaxation, play and educational activities.
The personal space is decorated softer and calmer than the first floor. We can say that he has a “feminine” character. To decorate the walls on the second floor, paper wallpaper with floral and floral patterns was used, as well as paint in green, blue and sand colors; a light parquet board was laid on the floor. Active colors, such as red, are very carefully introduced into the interior through textiles, accessories and individual pieces of furniture.
The interior of the guest bedroom was built based on the bedside tables and lamp that the hostess already had. For the first, we selected a low bed suitable in height, for the second, table lamps with pleated lampshades
To fill the interior, I used items whose authorship belongs to a variety of manufacturers - from a well-known company producing mass furnishings to private workshops where specialists decorate (paint and paint) various products by hand. For example, among the services of one of the small ones I attracted - different colors, different designs, different models. This is exactly what I used, independently selecting the colors of the general tinting and shades of painting of wooden furniture for the bedrooms, and was guided by the test colors provided. Mirrors in both daughters’ rooms were also made to order and painted. In addition, the interior contains a lot of ceramics, including original works, such as unusual capacious bowls of various shapes and items purchased at a flea market, such as jugs of traditional shapes.
