How to get a sawn log. Skyrim: construction

The Hearthfire update, among other changes and innovations, added the ability to build your own home to Skyrim. This allows you not only to significantly diversify the gameplay, but also to simply take a break between exploits.

Naturally, to build a home it will be necessary to spend a certain amount of resources such as, for example, clay, glass, stone and sawn logs. Skyrim offers you several options for obtaining them, each of which should be given special attention. In this article you will find all the information regarding sawn logs.

Basic method

Traveling through the game world, you could come across sawmills in its vastness, which produce the resource you need - sawn logs. Skyrim is rich in dense forests, so it is not surprising that wood processing has become one of the main occupations of local residents.

To order a product, you need to talk to the owner of the sawmill and pay him 200 gold for it. In addition, if you don’t know where to get sawn logs in Skyrim, or you just don’t want to leave your home, you can ask the manager to make the transaction for you, thus saving yourself the unnecessary legwork.

Please note that logs will not be added to the hero's inventory. Instead, they will appear next to the construction site in the form of stacks. Also, do not forget about the high cost of the resource, so before you go shopping, make sure you have the required amount.

Processing logs in Black Desert. Raw lumber: what is it for?

Rough lumber is an important craft resource obtained by splitting logs. To make it you need 10 logs. Moreover, depending on the luck of the player and his craft level, you can get 1 - 3 pieces from this dozen. untreated lumber.

As mentioned earlier, this resource is used in many recipes and crafting grids. First of all, raw lumber in Black Desert serves as the basis for the manufacture of various types of furniture and interior items; In addition, without it it is impossible to craft a boat or a barricade (for guild battles for nodes).

The next link in the “life cycle” of a log is wood. This is a higher value material that is (excuse the pun) treated raw lumber.

Wood in BDO is needed to create more advanced boats. In order to be able to create it, you must have at least level 14 in the Gathering and complete the quest “Ash Processing Competition” in the city of Heidel.

Own production

If you wish, you can receive sawn logs for free. Skyrim, fortunately, is not without such an opportunity. To do this, you need to go to the sawmill, talk to its owner and ask him for permission to produce firewood. He will not agree right away, so you will first have to appease the artisan in some way. For example, you can work as a lumberjack for a certain period of time and thus improve your relationship.

After you agree with the owner, he will allow you to use the sawmill and process the logs with your own hands. After each production cycle, you will receive 10 units of product without spending money on it. This method will allow you to save a tidy sum, although it will require much more time.

A way for those who like to cheat

And finally, there is a way to cheat and instantly get a sawn log. Skyrim, as you know, is not without cheats, one of which will allow you to acquire the necessary amount of any resource.

To get a sawn log, you need to enter the command “player.additem XX00300e” in the console. Here, instead of “XX”, you should substitute a number from 01 to 04, indicating the installation order of the Hearthfire add-on. Most often the value you need will be 04, but if the cheat doesn't work, you can try other numbers.

Thus, you can receive logs in unlimited quantities and at any time, and you will not spend precious gold on this. But don’t forget that using cheats spoils the fun of the game, so try to use them as rarely as possible.

# Delivery and assembly of the log frame onto the foundation

It was not possible to film the delivery and assembly process itself, but the finished version is shown in the photo below. The log house is assembled on a strip foundation with a brick plinth. As waterproofing, roofing material RKP-350 (15 meters per roll) was laid under the lower crown on the plinth. Between each crown, the installers laid weighted tow, and laid jute tape on top, punching it with a furniture stapler. In total, 20 meters of roofing material, 50 kg of tow and 265 meters of jute were used.

# Installation of plastic windows in the frame of the attic floor

All the work that we planned to do this year has almost been completed. It remains to install PVC windows on the second floor. They did this: they screwed two boards on the outside and installed the frame in the opening (the boards were used to prevent the frame from falling out). Since the window openings are ideal in all planes, there were no problems with installation. We drilled the frame from the inside on four sides and secured it with dowels. The sash was hung in its place and foamed. We will install the platbands next year.

# Installation of gables

We decided to cover the gables with OSB sheets 9 mm thick. In July 2021, they cost us 1,600 rubles. for 1 sheet of standard size 1250*2500. The frame was made from bars, which were sawn from the remaining 50th board.
