Tikkurila Ultra Classic is ideal for northern climates. She is not afraid of frost and can withstand sudden temperature changes well. Designed for decorating wooden facades and reliably protecting them from rain, snow and scorching sun. The composition forms an elastic coating that does not crack during natural deformation of wood. In essence, Ultra Classic “lives” in time with the facade - the wood absorbs some of the water and increases in volume, and then the liquid evaporates and the size decreases, but the paint does not suffer. Judging by the reviews, the coating will last at least 17 years and will not even lose its color brightness. The only downside, like most Tikkuril paints, is the high price.

Everything is simple here - the matte the paint, the less jambs will be visible. The degree of gloss (gloss) is indicated in special units, which are indicated on the cans. Supermatte paints have a rating of 2-3. 7 units – it’s already shining. But a deuce is a discord for a deuce. In my subjective opinion, the most matte paint is, again, Paritet Facade. Behind it comes Caparol, Tikkurila is all shiny, like Dulux.

But not everything is clear here. Typically, the higher the gloss level of the paint, the more durable it is. For example, I rubbed Dulux Bindo 7 vigorously with sponges and rags, but she didn’t need any henna. And only Paritet combines power and matteness.

Let's summarize. There is no need to buy something that is obviously wrong. Like Lacra or Tex. But it’s often not worth overpaying for a brand either (I’m talking about Tikkuril). Parity and Caparol are proven quality. If you read my article about do-it-yourself decorative plaster, then remember that there is a main layer of paint and a washout layer.

So, for the main layer (substrate) it is necessary to use a very resistant paint, and for the wash coat - cheap, for ceilings, without resistance to washing. I can tell you that Finncolor Oasis is ideal for this.

Exterior paints

For surfaces located on the outside of buildings, Beckers offers two types of primer mixtures, four types of paint and special impregnation. These products are produced for painting external facades, metal and concrete bases.

Beckers Putsprimer LS is a primer mixture containing silicone additives. It is used for painting brick surfaces or ceramics. Beckers Putsgeund universal primer with styrene resin is suitable for any substrate.

Types of paints:

Beckers Putsfasadfarg P. This type is used for working on already plastered surfaces and concrete facades. It contains acrylic resin, which when dried creates an additional film for protection.
Beckers Akrylatfarg. This product is water based and is used for painting concrete, wood and metal substrates. The paint dries very quickly, does not fade and mattes the wall.

Beckers Golvfarg. This type of paint is made for wood, concrete floors and linoleum. It also resists the effects of oily liquids.
Beckers Sockelfarg. This paint is water based and mattifies the substrate. It contains latex, which provides additional strength to the coating. As a rule, it is used for application to the foundation part and drain pipe.

Becker also produces a colorless impregnation, Beckers Regnostopp, which ensures the formation of a water-repellent film on the external walls of the building and faster drying of subsequent layers of paint.

If we are talking about new wooden bases that have been primed at the factory, they should be cleaned with a brush, ensuring that the dirt is completely removed. This also applies to glazed walls. When you have to work with wooden walls covered with mold, you must first treat them with special products like Ute-Mogeltvatt. At the next stage, the surface is primed, and the joints and seams are treated with Grundolja oil.

Beckers paint can also be applied to concrete surfaces, however, if they are new, then this work should not begin earlier than two months after completion of construction. The surface must be matte. Plastic, aluminum, galvanized and painted bases are washed with the Malartvatt composition already mentioned above, and then with water. Rusty areas are cleaned with a steel brush and then coated with primer.

For outdoor use

Beskers products have a large selection of exterior paints. They protect the surface from contact with the external environment.

For painting brick and ceramic products, Putsprimer LS primer or Putsgeund primer is suitable.

Beckers Elegant paint is applied to a previously prepared surface, which must be cleaned of dirt, dust, and treated with a primer. If necessary, joints, seams, and uneven areas should be puttied and leveled. The base is cleaned with grit sandpaper, and the final painting is carried out in one or two layers. Sometimes it happens that the painted surface needs to be renewed. In this case, it needs to be washed, and then the shiny spots of paint should be treated with fine-grained sandpaper to increase adhesion. If there is adhesive paint on the base, it can be removed with water. If it is not possible to carry out such work, a primer should be applied to the wall. Whitened surfaces are treated with a brush; the resulting dust must be washed off with water.
