A small storage room in an apartment can become a truly irreplaceable room if it is properly organized. Maximum use of space and the use of convenient storage systems will allow you to place a large number of items in the pantry and relieve living rooms. The design of a room directly depends on its purpose.

Where to place a pantry: layout ideas
Finding a suitable place to store various household utensils and things in small apartments is quite difficult. However, organizing your pantry is the best way to keep rarely used items out of sight and organized. If you take a good look around and apply some imagination, then even in a small Khrushchev you can carve out a couple of square meters.
Niche
The presence of a niche in a living space greatly simplifies the issue of equipping a pantry. Such recesses in the walls can often be found in old buildings - they are located in hallways or living rooms, have different dimensions, but in any case they will successfully serve as a storage area. Depending on the shape of the mini-room, you can place U-shaped or L-shaped shelves in it, install a hanger bar, or place household appliances. A tiny niche will be a good place to place a washing machine or refrigerator, and a large space can be decorated as a dressing room.
Dead end of the corridor
If there are no niches in the apartment, do not despair - a pantry can be equipped using the empty space. This opportunity exists, for example, for owners of long corridors that end in a dead end. In this case, it is enough to install a plasterboard partition or simply sliding sliding doors, which will limit the space of the pantry. Inside, as well as in a niche, the space is arranged depending on its purpose.
End of the balcony
An equally popular place to create a storage system is the end of the balcony. Here, too, owners of small-sized apartments often equip storage rooms. However, it is necessary to take into account the specific microclimate, which is very different even on a glazed balcony - this includes increased humidity and sharper temperature changes. It follows from this that a pantry equipped on a balcony should not be used to store food or clothing - it is best to place household supplies here.
In the kitchen
It is convenient for any housewife to have a food storage system directly in the kitchen, where you can place various canned goods, vegetables, cereals and other products. At the same time, it is not necessary to allocate a large area - the pantry can be organized along one of the walls and have a depth of no more than 20 cm. To save space, you can leave the storage open or install a sliding door structure. In such a pantry, in addition to food, there is space to store rarely used kitchen utensils.
In the bathroom
In the bathroom you can also arrange a small niche-storage room where hygiene, cosmetic, and cleaning supplies will be stored in an orderly manner. The space of an empty corner, which is fenced off with partitions made of moisture-resistant plasterboard and a curtain, is quite suitable for this. Sometimes a small laundry room is installed here, with a washing machine installed, or an ironing board is installed.
How to close the pantry?
In order to close the pantry in the apartment, swing doors or practical and ergonomic sliding doors are installed. Thanks to the compartment mechanism, sliding panels significantly save space in the room.
The storage facility is also equipped with vertical and horizontal protective blinds or roller blinds. Due to their lightness, these models promote normal air circulation.
The photo shows a bathroom with a storage room in a niche, decorated with light light curtains.
Fabric curtains are used instead of doors. Draperies made of thick or light textiles are perfect for decorating a storage room in an apartment.
Arrangement
You can give your pantry a nice look using a variety of materials. You can equip it with your own hands, depending on the purpose of the pantry. If, for example, an additional sleeping place is equipped there, then the renovation will include the arrangement of the ceiling, floor, and walls. An ordinary suspended ceiling with well-thought-out lighting will be the right solution; you can put laminate on the floor, and stick wallpaper on the walls or simply paint them.
If you are going to set up a mini-laundry room, you will have to lay tiles on both the floor and the walls, since moisture will be present in this room in any case. If this is a dressing room or a place to store food, you can line the walls with wood; a laminate floor would be a suitable option.
Storage system
When equipping a storage system for any things, materials, tools, products, they think about where and what things will be placed. For large items, it is advisable to install shelving, both with open shelves and drawers, where it is convenient to store small items. Floor structures such as chests of drawers, drawers, and chests are also suitable.
The choice of all these items depends on what kind of things will be located in the pantry: clothes, tools, food or toys. When arranging shelves, racks, and cabinets, you can treat them with a composition that prevents the formation of mold and mildew.
Ventilation
Any room requires air supply. You can install ventilation in the pantry yourself or invite a specialist for this purpose. There is an easier option. You can make a small window in one of the walls, which will open onto another room where there are windows, which means there is the possibility of ventilation. Another option is to simply ventilate the pantry more often, and this is very easy to do. Every closet has a door, you just need to open it more often. This way, the air will circulate and there will never be an accumulation of unpleasant odors or moisture in the pantry.
Air circulation
Proper air circulation and ventilation play an important role in this. An effective and efficient ventilation system is important in a pantry . Air exchange causes warm masses filled with microorganisms and pollutants to go out through the ventilation ducts, and cool and clean ones get inside.
As a general rule, a pantry should not have windows because it allows too much light to pass through, causing the air and food to heat up. At the same time, this makes it difficult to maintain a constant temperature around the clock. If it is there, it is recommended to cover it with sun-protective film, foil or insert a mesh with very small cells. This will make it possible to ventilate the room while protecting it from insects and rodents.
Where there is no window, an appropriate ventilation system with ducts and vents must be used. They should also be secured with mesh.
Layout
And although the pantry is just a small room behind a closed door, you shouldn’t clutter it with unnecessary items. The correct layout looks very aesthetically pleasing, so even a spacious room should be divided into separate zones, and all things should be organized. There is no need to try to fill the available corner with anything. The space should be organized in such a way that each thing has its own place. It is important to remember that in the closet, as in the entire apartment, there is no room for trash, so without getting rid of old things it is impossible to use the space rationally. Otherwise, chaos and chaos cannot be avoided.
If you don't need an item, it's better to give it away or throw it away rather than store it in a dark corner for a long time. It is important to organize the space in such a way that any item can be reached in one movement.
In a large country house there are many possibilities for placing a spacious storage room. Nevertheless, it is better at the construction stage to think about how to organize the internal space, where and how certain things will be stored. It is worth remembering that every square centimeter counts in a pantry.
Storage rules:
- To keep your shoes in excellent condition, it is best to store each pair in a separate box. It's a good idea to label each box so you don't have to look through each pair when the season changes. The ideal option is to print out photos of the shoes and glue them to the side of the box. To save space, you can place the shelves at an angle.
- On the middle shelves it is better to store things that are often used, for example, sports bags, laundry baskets, and tools. You can also install special drawers for things at arm's length.
- It is better to store suitcases, a vacuum cleaner and other bulky household appliances in the lower part of the pantry under the shelves.
- It is recommended to remove the artificial Christmas tree and New Year's decorations on the top tier.
- If there is a need to store outerwear out of season, you can place a hanger along one of the walls. The optimal height is 1.7-2 meters. And for hats it is worth setting aside a separate shelf.
The most rational and practical way to organize space would be shelves. For a pantry, a shelf depth of 40 cm is sufficient. But this width can be adjusted depending on the layout. And it is not necessary to use shelves of the same size and there is no point in placing only large and roomy ones. And at the same time, the expected load on each section should be taken into account. The shelves installed on special guides can be swapped and moved over time, thereby increasing or decreasing the size of the sections.
Dimensions
“Stalin buildings” usually have a good area, so such apartments often have two storage rooms. But, mostly, apartment owners dismantle partitions and use storage rooms to expand the living space. With the right approach, you can equip a dressing room, laundry room or office here.
Small storage rooms are found in other old houses. For example, a storage room in a Khrushchev building can occupy only 1 square meter. m. It can be used to store household appliances, cleaning products, an ironing board, etc. And in a “Brezhnevka” storage room, as a rule, the storage area does not exceed 2.5x1x3 meters. This is a good option for a walk-in closet that can also store some household appliances. Often the project included storage rooms in the hallway or next to the bedroom. It makes more sense to use the free space in the hallway as a wardrobe for outerwear. And the storage room next to the room can have the function of a dressing room.
Lightweight pantry doors
The room in which food supplies, old things, small equipment, and sometimes clothes and shoes are stored needs no less high-quality organization than other rooms in an apartment or house. In this case, special importance is given to the structure installed at its entrance and designed to hide from prying eyes what the owner would prefer not to show to every guest.
Lightweight pantry door made from a combination of natural wood and MDF
The best decision is to choose lightweight pantry doors that:
- will not cause installation difficulties;
- improve and organize the space;
- will provide the most comfortable use;
- will remain operational even with frequent use;
- will not overload the interior visually;
- They will delight you with their high strength and pleasant appearance.
Typically, a lightweight pantry door is made from a combination of natural wood and MDF. The structure of such a canvas contains: a frame made of glued coniferous timber - a material famous for its strength with low weight; thin MDF sheathing; fine mesh cardboard filler.
The lining of the canvas is selected taking into account the operating conditions in the room. If the pantry is cold and damp, it is better to abandon natural veneer in favor of enamel or laminate. Modern synthetic films successfully recreate the decorative properties of wood, so that laminated products can be combined with veneered ones in the interior.
The cheapest option is to buy a lightweight plastic closet door. However, its disadvantages include the lack of breathability and unpresentable appearance.
Lightweight sliding design for pantry
When arranging utility rooms, many owners pay attention to sliding-type models.
There are several reasons for this:
- a section that slides in the plane of the wall is extremely useful in a room that does not have an excess of free space;
- compartment and folding systems are not airtight, which in this case is an argument in favor, since additional gaps will eliminate the risk of air stagnation in the room;
- roller structures allow you to equip hard-to-reach areas of space. For example, a lightweight wooden door for a storage room, presented in a folding design, will fit into the opening of a narrow corridor or room entirely occupied by furniture;
- a product without a bottom rail seems almost weightless, thereby effectively unloading space.
The lightweight sash does not burden the roller mechanism, ensuring its smooth and durable operation. Still, sliding systems are not as durable as hinges, and with intensive use they require repair more quickly.
Decor
Decoration is more functional than aesthetic, and despite this, the design of the pantry deserves special attention. The purpose of the storage room plays an important role. Before you start decorating, you need to decide what you will store in it. The free space can be used as a dressing room, a place to store or use household appliances, or as a small warehouse for food and household chemicals. Based on the task, it is worth moving on to the plan for utilities - electricity and ventilation.
The design of the pantry should be economical and convenient. And since the pantry is considered a kind of dust collector, it is wiser to choose simple and durable finishing materials in order to easily maintain cleanliness and order on the shelves without having to make repairs every year.
The most popular ways to finish a pantry:
- Painted plaster is a simple and effective way to decorate walls. It looks especially appropriate if the walls of the adjacent room are also covered with decorative plaster.
- Wallpaper is the most economical and simple way of finishing, but you should choose fabrics that can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
- Plastic panels are the most practical option. PVC panels are easy to clean with a dry or damp cloth.
- Drywall is a good option for a pantry, although designers argue that this option is less practical because chips, scratches and abrasions appear on the coating more quickly.
- To finish the floor in a closet, you often choose the same type of flooring as in the next room. But linoleum and tiles are considered the most practical. Laminate is a less durable and reliable material.
Since the pantry is usually small in size, it is better to choose light shades for finishing the walls and floors; they will visually expand the space. And if you plan to use the room as a laundry room with a washing machine, then it is better to choose materials that are not afraid of moisture.
The door should not stand out from the overall style of the apartment. On the inside, you can provide additional shelves and hooks on the door. From a practicality and space-saving point of view, sliding or folding doors are best suited.
Immediately choose the type of lighting , since it will be difficult to remake the lamps and swap the lamps in the next stages. In addition, looking for the right thing or object in the twilight is a dubious pleasure. If it is not possible to run a separate cable for electricity into the closet, you can use LED strip or battery-powered spotlights for lighting. Built-in lighting along the ceiling and on the shelves will make the pantry not only cozy, but also more convenient.
If you plan to store fresh vegetables in the pantry, then you should make sure that there is ventilation. But even if shoes and clothes are stored in the room, it is still worth considering proper ventilation. The ventilation system will eliminate unpleasant odors and high humidity in the room. Ventilation openings should be covered with mosquito nets to prevent insects and other pests from entering.
Tall shelving to the ceiling will double the useful area of the pantry. Just like the built-in structure, it will not take up much space and will make the interior of the room more spacious and comfortable. You can also install individual shelves yourself - this is the least expensive way to build a pantry. It is better to place them from floor to ceiling. To do this you will need corners and the shelves themselves. A corner or U-shaped shelf will hold several times more things. And to make the pantry more functional and spacious, you can work out the design of the rotating corner block.
What materials are needed for wiring?
The quality of the materials used and their level of fire resistance are the main requirement when laying electrical wiring. Thus, the first stage for installation is the purchase of quality materials. The purchased wire must withstand the loads that will be created during the operation of electricity. In most cases, you should choose a VVG 3x2.5 cable for the socket, and a VVG 3x1.5 cable is sufficient for lighting (lamp). They come in other brands, but the main criterion is the material. It is best to purchase copper wires; in addition, aluminum cables are strictly not allowed in residential premises.
In addition to wires, you also need to purchase a cable duct or corrugated tube, which depends on the installation method. Sockets, switches, installation blocks and distribution boxes will also be needed. It is in the latter that terminals are used that connect the wires. If you need to connect them only temporarily, you can twist them for this. But this option is very dangerous, since the wires will heat up, which means a fire is possible. To fasten wires, especially under plaster, you will also need dowels, clips, nails and self-tapping screws.
Non-standard use
If you don’t want to store construction tools, an ironing board or food supplies in the pantry, then you can pay attention to bold and unusual solutions. Non-standard use will make a small space as efficient as possible.
If you often work at home or like to spend your free time at the computer, then a small closet can be equipped as a work office. Place a table with a chair behind the door, and small shelves on the walls. You can also use the door for various hooks and hanging shelves. But this method of arranging a pantry is suitable only for neat people who can give up free useful space for storing things.
If the pantry is located next to the bathroom or kitchen, then you can even organize a laundry room. There is also room here not only for a washing machine, but also for shelves with powders and conditioners, for a basket with clothes and a small dryer. This method will significantly save space in the kitchen and bathroom. And for greater functionality, you can provide and attach a folding ironing board to the pantry door.
And these are not all the options for non-standard use of the pantry. Even a small room can be used rationally and turn the pantry into a dressing room, workshop, library, or dismantle the doors and place a refrigerator inside an empty niche. The main thing is to use every angle correctly.
Home ideas
In the interior of a private house, to arrange a storage room, it is appropriate to choose a room in which storage systems can be placed along two or three walls. It is better that the storage is not located in the hall or living room.
The photo shows the design of a storage room under the stairs in the interior of a country house.
A big advantage would be the presence of a window. In this case, natural light in combination with ceiling chandeliers and wall lamps will create a comfortable atmosphere in a small room and also give a stylish look.
Dressing room from a storage room in a panel house
The presence of storage rooms in apartments is an invaluable treasure for those people who are always sorely lacking space. There are several ways to turn your pantry into a cozy dressing room. For example, in a panel house, the pantry needs to be replaced with a closet.
To do this you need to do the following:
- Remove the doors.
- Remove the partition in the corridor.
- Take measurements of the resulting niche.
- Order a suitable cabinet model, or better yet, choose a sliding wardrobe.
- Install.
If the doors go into the wall or move on rollers, this will save as much space as possible; it will be possible to connect the panel with a mirror.
The dressing room will turn out no less attractive if it is made according to a different plan. To create a new functional area, it is necessary to remove all objects from the room and update the interior design of the wall surfaces. It would be a good idea to repair the ceiling. After this, the master can purchase a large mirror, which he will install on the door. Now all that remains is to fill the dressing room with various compartments.
A large space must be allocated for long items; we must not forget about the hanging bar. In addition, you need to select special shoe stands and upper shelves on which hats will be stored. When everything is done by hand, the design can be changed according to personal preferences.
Finishes and materials
Before starting finishing work, you should develop a plan for organizing ventilation, electrical wiring, placement of sockets and switches, and also treat the surfaces with antifungal and antibacterial compounds.
When decorating a pantry, you should select especially high-quality materials with a color and texture that matches the rest of the furnishings of the apartment or house. To improve the interior space, various plaster mixtures, decorative paint, paper or non-woven wallpaper on a breathable basis are often used.
If the pantry in the apartment is equipped for a laundry room or a food closet, hygienic tiles are preferred for cladding.
The photo shows the design of an apartment with a storage room covered with wallpaper with a geometric print.
Practical linoleum or laminate boards look good on the floor. It is appropriate to cover the ceiling in a closet in an apartment with paint or whitewash, and also finish it with breathable plasterboard, wood or plastic panels.
Availability of lighting and ventilation
If a closed space appears, then air will certainly stagnate in it, after which, over time, an unpleasant smell of stagnant air will appear. If something is also stored in this room, then heavy air appears, absorbing the aromas of those things or objects that are in it. In this regard, we can immediately say that ventilation is necessary, and effective ventilation, which must be organized even before things are placed in the room for storage.
You can arrange such a room in any zone
Most often, the owners of “Khrushchev” buildings find a place for a storage room on the balcony or loggia. For this purpose, the room is glazed and insulated. The field is ordered by a cabinet, ceiling height, with many shelves, drawers, and storage niches.
If there is a small niche in the house, it is worth equipping a closet-storage room in it. It will be of a frame type. To do this, only door doors are ordered, and several shelves are mounted. They are equipped with drawers or other devices for storing everything necessary for the household.
In the hallways of many “Stalin” or “Khrushchev” buildings, dead ends are planned, located in the far part of the space. You can zone them with doors and arrange a storage room in the resulting room.
Dressing room from the pantry
A do-it-yourself dressing room from a closet looks simply great in the photo - it will look no worse in reality, if you take into account all the subtleties of its arrangement.
Let's make a mess
What is a pantry? This is a collection of the most diverse and, sometimes, no longer needed things. All the rubbish collected over the years of living in the apartment will have to be taken out of there. Don't store anything you haven't used for more than a year. It's unlikely you'll ever need it again, so give it away or simply throw it away.
Now look at the condition of the room. Cracks and chips on the surfaces of walls and ceilings must be repaired. It is not necessary to putty them “egg-like”, but it is necessary to make the surfaces suitable for finishing. The final decoration can be done with paint, emulsion, wallpaper. It is not necessary to adhere to stylistic decisions and apply patterns. All the same, the walls will be practically invisible due to the congestion of the space, although if you wish, you can practice your design delights.
Dressing room in the pantry
Selection of modules
The most important stage of organizing space. You need to choose the type of storage system that suits your needs. Consider a combination of boom modules and stationary housing structures. If you have a large number of dresses, suits and other items of outerwear, you will need more rods; in other cases, concentrate on equipping the room with different sized shelves and drawers.
An example of a set of modules for a do-it-yourself wardrobe room
How to fix
We have decided on the structures, now they will need to be fixed to the places corresponding to the layout. The choice of mounting method is influenced by the type of walls in the pantry. If these are concrete surfaces or brickwork, you don’t have to limit yourself too much. FIX type fastenings look very neat in the decor. If it is necessary to replace the shelves, they are simply dismantled. A dressing room where Pelican fasteners were used will look neat. They are reliable and capable of holding even very crowded shelves.
Pelican fasteners for shelves
With plasterboard partitions the situation is worse. They are not designed for such loads, so the modules will have to be fixed to the floor and ceiling.
Comparable filling of space
When working on a dressing room with your own hands, converted from a storage room, the photos suggest rational distribution of things in it. This approach will allow you to fit everything that was planned into a limited space. Use two-tier rods, all kinds of organizers and other types of hanging shelves. All this will perfectly complement the decor of a specific room.
Zoning
In a mini-wardrobe it will not be entirely traditional. Here not only the area of space will be broken down, but also things. The latter should be three categories:
1. Current now.
2. Seasonal.
3. Rarely used.
Zoning the dressing room space
The first group is stored in the most accessible and convenient places, the second and third are sent higher and further away.
Doors
They can be anything, the main thing is that they fit organically into the overall space. A mirror should be attached to them, preferably of a large size, if the design allows. This will add practicality to the room and make its use more comfortable, as it will allow you to evaluate yourself on the spot, without the need to go to the hallway, where there is definitely a full-length mirror.
The mirror can be placed on the dressing room door
Is it necessary to finish the pantry?
As a rule, the storage room is transferred to buyers of a new building with a minimum of pre-finishing or rough finishing. It is better to carry out cosmetic finishing - this will reduce the dust that will settle on the things in it over time. In addition, the pantry should be equipped with smoke sensors (in case the contents ignite), humidity sensors (if household chemicals, building materials or works of art, old books are stored), as well as motion sensors with an alarm in case of burglary.
How to do it yourself?
When renovating, you can save a lot if you convert the pantry into a dressing room yourself.
Tools and materials
For finishing you will need:
- Roulette.
- Plaster.
- Sandpaper.
- Putty knife.
- Putty.
- Primer.
- Wallpaper with glue or paint with a roller and brushes.
- Floor covering (laminate, linoleum or parquet).
To create shelving you will need:
- Wooden boards or chipboard.
- End tape.
- Jigsaw.
- Screwdriver, dowels and screws.
- Metal furniture corners.
- A clothes rail and special fastenings at both ends.
- Hammer.
- Self-tapping screws with dowels, screwdrivers.
- Pencil.
- Level.
- Angle clamp.
The type of lighting and ventilation you choose depends on your budget and the location of your closet.
Step-by-step instruction
To make a dressing room in a pantry with your own hands, you need to follow a certain sequence. Let's get started:
- We dismantle the pantry door. We completely clean the interior space, including removing old finishing materials. If necessary, level the walls with plaster.
- We carry out finishing work. The ceiling is painted and a suitable covering is laid on the floor. The walls are covered with paint or wallpaper. It is necessary to choose modern paint compositions that do not stain clothes. Wallpaper must be washable. It is better to decorate your future dressing room in light colors. If you plan to install cabinet furniture, the finishing can be done inexpensively, since it will not be visible anyway. At this stage, ventilation and lighting are done.
- We take measurements for the manufacture of shelves. First you need to plan their location, draw a sketch, then draw up a detailed drawing. The number of shelves, rods and the dimensions of the racks depend on the real needs of the owner of the house, we will give only approximate figures: the height of the upper compartment is 20 cm, the middle one is about one and a half meters, the lower one is 40 cm. The length is determined based on the number of things and free space, the depth is in according to the size of the hanger plus 10 cm (total approximately 60 cm).
- Let's start cutting the laminated chipboard. This material is considered optimal for making a homemade shelving unit. It is not afraid of moisture and has high strength indicators. In addition, the slabs look aesthetically pleasing, imitating a wooden surface. The cutting is done with a jigsaw using sharp chipboard files. It is necessary to increase the speed, reduce the feed and set the pumping to 0. An even simpler solution is to cut it in the store when purchasing the material. Remove roughness on the edges with sandpaper.
- We fix the sides to the wall. To do this, mark vertical lines on the walls of the dressing room in accordance with the drawing. We fix 5 metal corners along the line at the same distance from each other (drill mounting holes, hammer in dowels, fix the corners with a screwdriver). We install the side panels from laminated chipboard, securing them to the corners with self-tapping screws.
- We make horizontal markings. We fix the shelves using small furniture corners: screws with dowels fix them to the wall, and wood screws to the chipboard.
- We continue to assemble the rack:
- We install the rod, securing the brackets with self-tapping screws between the two sidewalls.
- The pantry remodel is complete.

Why do you need a pantry door?
Pantry doors are made in different designs and designs, but they all perform specified functions:
- protect the storage from direct sunlight, moisture and dust;
- due to the absence of windows, they provide high-quality ventilation of the room;
- do not interfere with free movement in the main room and access to the internal space;
- correspond to the design style of the apartment and fit into the interior of the room.
Features of organization for a small pantry
A dressing room is considered compact if it occupies only 3 square meters. To accommodate as many things as possible, you can simply turn your pantry into a large closet.
If desired, part of the walls of the storage room is demolished and the room is expanded using drywall. Unfortunately, this reduces the area of the living room, which is especially critical in a one-room apartment. The redevelopment must be legalized in the BTI.
The photo shows a pantry-wardrobe, the modest area of which does not allow for a full-fledged dressing room.
But if instead of a pantry you plan to arrange a dressing room, you need to provide a convenient passage, reduce the depth of the shelves, and provide lighting. You will most likely have to abandon built-in drawers and use a lightweight frame storage system. To use every free centimeter, you can attach additional hooks, hang textile pockets or baskets. It’s also worth leaving room for a stool so you can easily reach the top shelves.
The photo shows a compact walk-in closet located in the bedroom.
How to arrange a pantry?
The equipment will depend on the dimensions of the storage facility and its functional purpose. The most rational solution in arranging a utility room is to install hanging shelves that do not overload or clutter the space. It is important to correctly select the construction material taking into account the expected load. If the pantry in the apartment has sufficient dimensions, the best option would be shelving or built-in cabinets made according to the individual parameters of the room.
The photo shows an example of arranging a storage room in an apartment.
The lower tier is occupied by corner shelves for seasonal shoes and special sections for bulky and heavy items such as bags of cereal, buckets, a vacuum cleaner and other equipment.
In the middle segment there are mainly shallow shelves that are suitable for storing laundry baskets, tools or dishes.
The upper section is equipped with mezzanines, rods and wall hooks. This part is suitable for outerwear and rarely used items and accessories in the form of New Year's toys.
Interior design ideas
It is worth paying special attention to mirrors - they will come in handy not only in a cramped dressing room, but also in a spacious room. A full-length mirror is useful when changing clothes; in addition, it visually expands the space and increases the amount of light.
The photo shows a large mirror that is mounted on the inside of the movable door, which makes it mobile and easy to use.
Another useful device is installing an ironing board in the dressing room. To do this you will need lighting, an outlet and a place for an iron.
Sometimes a dressing room in a closet becomes not only a storage place for things, but also a place for privacy, where you can put yourself in order, choose the right look, get ready for the work day or, conversely, for relaxation. This is why people all over the world value their cozy corners so much and try to furnish them with taste.

Space of options
At the design stage, a problem often arises with choosing a location —
Without compromising the design of the entire living space, it is not possible to enclose a storage room of the correct shape. However, no one says that the pantry must be square or rectangular. Moreover, many designers promote the idea that the shape can be anything, and the more spacious the room, the better.

“I’ll tell you about one of the options for planning a storage room using the example of one of my projects. This was a project in a two-room apartment of the IP-46s series of houses, which is still very popular among developers —
I’m specifically citing the series at home, since I don’t rule out that someone might want to use this example in their project.
The task was to change the original project, in which a storage room of 1.8 square meters was provided for a two-room apartment. m. This area is not enough for three family members to use the technical room all year round. In addition, the rectangular area greatly reduces the room for maneuver when designing the filling. In this option, the rack can only be installed along a 1.1 m long wall. Shelves cannot be placed along a longer wall -
this will make it difficult to enter the room, and getting things out and putting them away will become inconvenient. The room also loses its appearance because it has a corner wall with a window, which requires symmetry. In the end, I decided to enlarge the pantry by making one of its walls parallel to the corner wall in the living room.
